Utility-Scale Solar PV Fundamentals course is now free for HeatSpring members

Brian Hayden Brian Hayden

We need more leadership talent on utility-scale solar PV projects so starting today, for a limited time, Utility-Scale Solar PV Fundamentals is free for HeatSpring members. Membership is super cheap and it’s a great way to develop a learning habit.

Andy Nyce built the Utility-Scale Solar Essentials program to help his friends and colleagues level-up. It’s hard to make the jump into a leadership role without taking a minute to learn how to see everything happening on a utility-scale project. Fundamentals is the introductory course in that series.

More about the course

The utility-scale solar industry is growing faster than ever before. Having a solid understanding of the foundations of solar is crucial to excelling in your utility-scale solar career.

In this introductory course, Andy Nyce breaks down the basics of electricity and its flow, which is essential to understanding how solar systems operate. Equally as important to understand is the ecosystem of organizational partners that come together to develop solar PV projects, everything from Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms to utilities to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) will be covered as well.

This content was previously embedded in the Quality Management in Utility-Scale Solar Construction, Utility-Scale Solar Operations & Maintenance, and Understanding Utility-Scale Solar Construction Drawings courses. Now, it is a stand-alone course. Students in any of those courses can request a complementary enrollment to this course.

More about HeatSpring membership

HeatSpring Membership is a bundle of learning opportunities that would otherwise cost a lot more. Here’s what you get:

  1. Extended access to paid courses. Wll of our courses come with 1-year of unlimited access. Sometimes people get busy and don’t finish, but they don’t want to pay for the class again. This is original reason we created HeatSpring membership. Now you can pay the small monthly fee for as long as you need to finish the class and get your certificate of completion.
  2. Certificates of completion for all free courses. We have lots of teams that use our free courses for learning and professional development. If earning certificates of completion help with tracking and motivation, then membership is a really affordable tool to get better results for your team.
  3. Member access to premium courses. With membership you get access to a bunch of premium courses that you would normally have to pay a lot more to take. Sometimes they carry CEUs. We try to add a new course every month to keep it fresh. Like all of our premium courses, once you’re enrolled you have a full year to take the course.

Membership is intended to lower the barrier to learning so you can make professional development a regular habit.

Membership is also available to Teams. Team discounts are applied automatically and team memberships have all of the same benefits as the individual memberships.
