We’re Hiring! – Course Developer & Lead Instructor

Brit Heller Brit Heller

We’re building HeatSpring CORE and we need the right educator to lead it.

HeatSpring has spent years creating best-in-class training for solar professionals, building performance experts, and clean energy specialists. Now we’re expanding that mission to welcome people at the very beginning of their trades journey.

HeatSpring CORE will be the entry point for aspiring electricians, plumbers, equipment operators, project managers, and construction professionals – a comprehensive program that gives students the foundational skills and confidence they need to succeed in the skilled trades.

We know there’s a gap between existing entry-level trades education and what students actually need to thrive in the field. Closing that gap requires an experienced educator who’s ready for the creative freedom to design these programs from the ground up.

If that’s you – or someone you know – keep reading to see the full job description!

Course Developer & Lead Instructor, HeatSpring CORE

Remote Position | Contract or Part-Time or Full-Time | $20k-100k | Application link

You’re Already Teaching. We Want to Amplify Your Impact.

HeatSpring is looking for an experienced trades educator who’s ready to scale their expertise beyond the classroom or job site. You’re someone who already knows how to teach essential skills across the construction trades—from electrical and plumbing to equipment operation and project management—but you’re constrained by traditional educational structures that limit your creative potential.

This role is your opportunity to design comprehensive, entry-level training programs that become the “friendly front door” to skilled trades careers for thousands of students nationwide.

What You’ll Do

Content Creation & Curriculum Development

  • Build HeatSpring CORE training programs from the ground up, covering electrician, craft labor, plumbing, equipment operator, project manager, construction supervisor, and engineering fundamentals. The first three: “Basic Employability Skills for Construction”, “Construction Materials, Methods, and Techniques”, “Hand & Power Tools for Construction Professionals”. After that, a hundred more.
  • Create engaging video content and interactive learning materials within the HeatSpring LMS. This includes light editing to get platform-ready. We love using Descript, but you are welcome to use any video editing software you like.
  • Update and refine existing educational resources based on industry evolution and student feedback

Lead Instruction

  • Serve as the primary instructor for HeatSpring CORE online courses
  • Teach live and recorded sessions, bringing real-world experience into every lesson
  • Guide students through practical skills that prepare them for success in the field
  • Deliver programs that develop the next generation of industry leaders

You’re the Right Fit If

You’re Already Teaching These Skills

  • You have hands-on experience across multiple construction trades
  • You currently teach or train others (formally or informally) and people consistently tell you you’re good at it
  • You can break down complex technical concepts into digestible, actionable steps

You Have a Vision

  • You know how entry-level trades education should work but haven’t had the platform to fully implement your ideas
  • You’re comfortable on camera and creating digital learning experiences
  • You see the bigger picture: how proper training creates better workers, safer job sites, and stronger communities

You Want Flexibility

  • You value the ability to structure your work around what matters to you
  • You work well independently and appreciate being trusted to deliver results
  • You’re interested in either part-time or full-time commitment—we’ll adapt to what works best for you

What Makes This Role Unique

This isn’t a traditional academic or corporate training position. You’ll have creative freedom to design programs that actually prepare students for real-world success, backed by a company that values your expertise and trusts your judgment.

The remote structure and flexible scheduling mean you can do this work alongside other priorities that matter to you—whether that’s maintaining your own practice, family commitments, or other professional interests.

Ready to Scale Your Impact?

If you’re an experienced trades educator who’s been waiting for the right platform to do your best work, let’s talk about how HeatSpring CORE can become that platform.

To apply: Complete this application. We promise to respond to all humans who apply!
