Meet Jason Brozen – Instructor Spotlight Brit Heller Decades in the electrical industry will teach you things no classroom can. Jason Brozen has spent years in the field, working his way from the audio/video side of construction to Master Electrician, and eventually to his current role as Safety and Technical Training Manager at Tyndale, where he oversees all things NFPA 70E and 70B. In this Instructor Spotlight, we’re introducing the person behind HeatSpring’s 6-Hour NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training. Jason brings a depth of experience that goes beyond credentials. In 2009, he survived an arc flash, and has spent the years since traveling and sharing his story in hopes of keeping others safe on the job. Say hello to Jason! Enrollments on HeatSpring: 340 Course rating: 4.9/5 What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten? It doesn’t have to be exactly like you would do it to be correct. Let others learn from their experiences (and mistakes) and try to gently and constructively teach them to avoid the failures you experienced in your past. This includes your children, even more. What’s a quote you think about often? “You get what you inspect, not what you expect.” “Good decisions come from experience; experience comes from bad decisions.” What was your first job in the industry? I started in the audio/video side of things, went to school, passed a Master Electrical exam, and then immediately, went to work on a commercial jobsite. How many years have you been in the industry? Almost 40-years What are your hobbies? Hanging with my wife cooking, farmers markets, etc. Shooting sports Home automation, audio/video, and control What’s a tradition or habit you’re proud of? Honoring my wife, she’s amazing, also making a big deal about birthdays. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? A rare roast beef sandwich on fresh sourdough bread with Loraine Swiss and mayo. Pair that with a good mac & cheese and you have my final meal. Oh yeah, and cake. I don’t care what kind. Never met one I didn’t like. Anything else you think would be fun to share? I like long walks on the beach. I am 100% a dog person and have 2 mini-Schnauzers.
