Brian Hayden Brian Hayden

We need more professionals designing and installing energy storage systems safely. So starting today, for a limited time, 2023 NFPA 855 & Fire Codes for Energy Storage Systems is free for HeatSpring members.

Ryan and the Mayfield Renewables team teach the course. They don’t mess around – their courses are highly technical and geared for a professional audience. If your job depends on knowing the latest fire and electrical codes for energy storage systems, then sign up for membership and jump into this course.

About the course: 2023 NFPA & Fire Codes for Energy Storage Systems

There are nine video lessons in the course. The first lesson sets the foundation for the rest of the course with an overview and statement of course objectives. Instructor Ryan Mayfield also discusses the applicable codes and standards relevant to energy storage systems (ESS) and fire protections and protocols, as well as a quick timeline of code adoption.

The course is self-paced and can be taken at any point within 12 months of enrollment. During that time, you will have access to the course videos and all course materials, including a copy of the presentation with easy-to-understand system schematics.

About HeatSpring Membership

HeatSpring Membership is a bundle of learning opportunities that would otherwise cost a lot more. Here’s what you get:

  1. Extended access to paid courses. Wll of our courses come with 1-year of unlimited access. Sometimes people get busy and don’t finish, but they don’t want to pay for the class again. This is original reason we created HeatSpring membership. Now you can pay the small monthly fee for as long as you need to finish the class and get your certificate of completion.
  2. Certificates of completion for all free courses. We have lots of teams that use our free courses for learning and professional development. If earning certificates of completion help with tracking and motivation, then membership is a really affordable tool to get better results for your team.
  3. Member access to premium courses. With membership you get access to a bunch of premium courses that you would normally have to pay a lot more to take. Sometimes they carry CEUs. We try to add a new course every month to keep it fresh. Like all of our premium courses, once you’re enrolled you have a full year to take the course.

Membership is intended to lower the barrier to learning so you can make professional development a regular habit.

Membership is also available to Teams. Team discounts are applied automatically and team memberships have all of the same benefits as the individual memberships.

About Mayfield Renewables’ Solar + Storage Workshop Series

Some people take this course along with NEC 2020 & 2023 Solar-Plus-Storage Requirements. Both courses are offered together in the 2023 Electrical & Fire Codes for Energy Storage Systems Bundle.

The courses are designed to be taken as a sequence for a more holistic approach to solar + storage learning or taken a la carte for industry professionals with significant experience in specific subject areas.
