Ground Source Heat Pumps, GeoExchange, Ground Coupled Heat Pumps…the list goes on. The Geothermal Heat Pump industry has had a lot of names over the years.
In this three minute video, HeatSpring Instructor John Manning explains what Geothermal Heat Pumps are, and dispels some common misconceptions. It’s a nice introduction for those just learning about the technology, and a quick reminder for those who already know a little bit about how it works.
Dear Sir,
I am from Bhutan, a small south Asian Himalayan country between China (in the north) and India (in the south). We are interested to develop a pilot demonstration geothermal heating in an institute (a central school located at a cold place where temperature in winter during Nov-Feb goes about -(minus) 10 degrees C. I visited the site for necessary information collection and brought the information as follows:
The priority of the school is to install the heating system in the classrooms of 2 buildings (one building with 24 rooms in two floors with room sizes of 6 m X 7 m each; the other building with 6 rooms in two floors with room sizes of 5 m X 6 m each) , one library building of two halls (6 m X 9 m each), and one multipurpose hall (size is 10 m X 19 m).
We do not have a single geothermal heating / cooling system installed till date in my country, Bhutan. Therefore, I need your support and advice on the load calculations for geothermal heating installations and installation capacity of the GHP system for all these above stated rooms and halls with some indicative cost. Sir my email is adhikarirn@gmail.com
I would be highly grateful for your kind support on this as we are thinking that we would replicate to others institutions and residential buildings in future if this pilot is successful.
Thanking you,
