90-Second Solar PV Training From HeatSpring Instructor Ken Thames

Grid-tied solar PV systems are the most common solar application in the United States.  The general concept of converting the sun’s rays into electricity is nothing new, but have you ever wonder how these systems really work?  It’s a complex answer that can take years to truly understand.  This video is the condensed version.

We grabbed HeatSpring Instructor Ken Thames at a coffee break during a recent solar training and challenged him to explain grid-tied solar in 90 seconds or less.  Take a look at the video and let us know how you think Ken did by leaving comments below.

Ken teaches HeatSpring’s Solar PV Installer Boot Camp.  He’s a master electrician, NABCEP certified PV installer, and he has installed nearly 500 solar PV systems.
